Even 20 years later, the magic of James Cameron’s epic titanic Titanic rekindles effortlessly. Sweet romance, glamor. As we watched the movie, we knew “the tragedy of life is imminent – the movie of 1997, based on the sunk wheel of 1912, still has a place in the best-selling movie ever.
Beginning next month, visitors to the Biltmore House in Asheville will have the opportunity to revisit the giants of that film and history by exhibiting “The Glamor in the Movies: Fashion from the Titanic Movies.” The exhibition, which opens on February 9, will receive 11 Academy Awards for clothing in more than 45 films, including Best Picture and Best Costume Design. Including Kate Winslet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Casey Bates, Bill Paxton and Gloria Stewart wearing a hat, robes, jewelry and tuxedo.
Biltmore’s charm is the fourth annual clothing show, marking the first large-scale “Titanic” clothing show.
Last year’s Biltmore showcased its signature Cheap Halloween Costumes to celebrate classic literature and film adaptation. From May 17 to October 7, board charisma also opened the glass sculpture designed by Dale Chihuly.
The “Titanic” Cheap Halloween Costumes are particularly significant to Biltmore as they are typically luxury wardrobe travelers, such as George Vanderbilt, who built the Bornmore estate of 250 rooms Edith, his wife, may have crossed the early 1900s. The details are different, but Vanderbilt booked a first class pass in the unfavorable first flight of the Titanic. They changed plans one week before the flight took off.
Each year, more than one million people visit the 175,000-square-foot Biltmore, an 8,000-acre landscaped garden covering 75 acres. 250 of the 250 rooms feature 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms, 65 fireplaces, and a wide range of art collections from family international tours and 94 acres of vineyards. Various tours are available from self-guided tours to rooftop tours, behind-the-scenes winery tours and motorbike tours throughout the estate. Guests can choose to visit the day or choose from a range of accommodation, including the more casual Country Inn Biltmore Estate, as well as the more luxurious Biltmore Estate and Biltmore Estate Villas.
